With their fourth CD set to be in stores in March, and a wealth of music industry award nominations in the works, timing couldn’t be better for a visit from Doc Walker. Recent accolades include a nomination for Favourite Country Artist of the Year at the upcoming Canadian Music Week, Group of the Year at the CCMA; Entertainer of the Year and Country Recording of the Year at the WCMA; Juno nominations and a host of others.
The Manitoba based band members include Chris Thorsteinson (lead singer, songwriter), Dave Wasyliw (vocals, songwriter) and guitarist and singer Murray Pulver.
Deric Ruttan
After taking a four-year recording break, Deric Ruttan releases his second CD this month and is touring across Canada this spring. This prolific songwriter has been busy! In the five years between disks, Ruttan wrote a number of songs for other artists and collaborated on projects with several musicians. He then penned over 100 songs for himself and tested them out on audiences around North America before committing them to disk. Audiences are drawn into Ruttan's good humoured, charismatic performances, while industry insiders compare his writing and vocal style to Bruce Springsteen, Waylon Jennings and Steve Earle.
