“Welcome to Urinetown. Not the place of course, the musical. Urinetown the place is sort of a mythical place, a bad place – let’s just say it’s full of symbolism and things like that.”

This Broadway smash hit and winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critic Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards and two Obie Awards, premiered in 2001. This satirical comedy will have you laughing out loud as our hero Bobby Strong leads a revolution to fight for people’s right to pee. In a city, suffering from a water shortage, caused by a 20- year drought, the people are forced to use public amenities, regulated by Public Amenity tycoon Caldwell B. Cladwell. Bobby runs into a bit of trouble when he finds out the woman he loves is none other than the daughter of the very tycoon he is trying to overthrow. Will he “Follow his Heart” and find “Freedom” for the citizens so they have the “Privilege to Pee”?
